CONSUMERS CALL FOR ETHICS
Over the past few years, consumers have become increasingly interested in the origin of their clothes. This poses new challenges for the fashion industry. When considering their purchase decisions, an increasing number of consumers also pay attention to responsible factors, such as the use of child labour, the working conditions of people making the clothes, the materials, and the environmental impacts of the manufacture process.
– I personally visit my subcontractors’ plants and prepare agreements on procedures to deploy. In this way, I can make sure that the materials I use are responsibly produced, says Danish fashion designer Peter Ingwersen, who also uses Saga pelts in his collections.
